Care Planning (LCP)
A dynamic document based upon published standards of practice, comprehensive
assessment, data analysis, and research. The Life Care Plan (LCP) provides
an organized, concise road map for current and future needs with associated
costs for individuals who have experienced catastrophic injury or have
chronic health care needs. Our consultants
are experienced and certified life care
planners committed to comprehensively evaluating the overall impact
of a disability. We maintain the highest ethical standards outlined by
our profession and only rely on up-to-date, reliable, and validated research
and resources to support our recommendations.
Long Term Care Planning
For less catastrophic injuries, a long-term care plan can be developed
that captures independent and community support, and any additional services
necessary following the onset of an injury or disability.
Medicare Set-Aside (MSA)
The MSA is a document that includes an evaluation of future medical costs
in order to protect Medicare’s financial interests. The MSA ensures
that Medicare is not the primary payer, by setting aside a sum of money
from a settlement to cover future anticipated Medicare covered expenses
related to a claimant’s compensable injuries. MSA’s developed
by consultants at Absolute Care Planning are based on the most current
legislation and mandates relating to Medicare and individuals involved
in disability / injury-related settlements.
Vocational Evaluation
A vocational evaluation is a comprehensive process involving a methodical
evaluation of an individual’s medical, psychological, social, vocational,
educational background. The process may include a series of vocational
assessments to gather data in order to evaluate an individual’s
vocational capacity following the onset of an injury or disability. Types
of vocational assessments often administered include: interest inventories,
achievement tests, aptitude assessments, intelligence / IQ tests, and
personality assessments. The vocational evaluation can be critical in
determining the damages associated with loss of vocational capacity following
an injury or onset of a disability.
Earning Capacity / Wage Loss
Analysis
An earning capacity analysis examines within a reasonable degree of rehabilitation
probability an individual’s capacity to develop educationally and
vocationally prior to an injury and cites representative earnings. Then
the person’s capacity to develop post-injury is presented with the
accompanying representative earnings. Issues involving additional training
and any appropriate recommendations for mitigating the impact are also
presented.
